EXCURSION On Monday the 16 th of November, we will be heading out of the classroom for a big day of learning about our wonderful Cape. Our excursion will be lead by local custodian of the land, Josh Whiteland. He will lead us on the “Cape Cultural Experience.” We will experience a “Welcome to Country” then an easy guided walk (~2.5km) around the tip of the cape, learning about local flora and fauna along the way. On arrival at the “Meeting Place”, we will enjoy local Dreaming stories, view an artefacts & tool display, followed by an interactive didgeridoo music session. We will also take part in the “ Ship wrecks and Settlers ” guided tour where we will learn about the importance of our area for early settlers. We will step back in time on a guided tour of the lighthouse and precinct, learning about the first inhabit ants, colonial settlement and the lives of the lighthouse keepers and families in this once isolated outpost.
