Week 4

Welcome to Week 4 in 5H! Once again we extend our heartfelt sympathy to our wonderful Violet and her family on the sudden death of David, Violet's Dad.  You are all in our thoughts and prayers.   In or blog this week we thought we would update you on our first couple of weeks as well as give you some reminders for this week ( of special note THE SWIMMING TRIALS TOMORROW ).  Please read on... What a fabulous first fortnight we have had in 5H and what a wonderful year of learning we can look forward to!   We have found out who was born in the same month as us and took photos for our Birthday Chart.   Chloe.R. and Tiago found out they were birthday twins, both being born on the 10 th of August! Parent Information Presentation

Hi everyone,  Unfortunately due to COVID restrictions we can't see you in person in the class for our parent information session.   W e hope the presentations below are useful for introducing you to us! We had a fabulous first week in 5H and are looking forward to a wonderful year of learning! Our Home Learning Grids will begin next week so we are able to introduce the children to the process this week. IMPORTANT:  Swimming Trial Notes Swimming trials will take place for years 4-6 next Tuesday the 23rd of February. A permission slip was sent home today. Term 1 Speaking Challenge

Term 1 - Speaking and Listening Challenge   “Something that is special and precious to me” Choose  something at home, with your mum or dad, that is special to you. Think about 3 to 5 reasons why this item is special to you. Write these reasons down. Make sure these reasons will be interesting for your audience to listen to. Make note cards for your presentation that summarises these points. Practise your presentation using the 6 speaking techniques that we have been practising in Term 1. You will get a score out of 5 for each of these techniques. A total score out of 30. Decide whether you will bring this item in for your presentation day or, if its too big or too precious, if you will take a photo/s of it on your laptop to share with your audience on the day.
