Term 3 Week 2

      Wow! Talk about starting Term 3 with a bang! We had THE BEST time on camp! The children displayed a high level of respect for themselves, each other, the instructors, O.L.C. teachers and the beautiful environment we were in!   I am sure you were left with an exhausted but happy camper on Wednesday afternoon! The main instructor, Brooke, challenged us to think outside our normal “paradigm.”   The children overcame their negative thoughts and difficult emotions to succeed in every aspect of the camp.   For some children, the first challenge was to wave you off on Monday morning!   For others it may have been eating new food or sleeping out of their normal comfy bed!   There were obvious challenges like the “Big Fox” and “Abseiling Nursery” experiences, where some children had to move through their difficult thoughts and emotions to have a go.  Others were happy as pigs in mud!  Literally mud, as I'm sure you realised when you dealt with the post camp washing pile!  We wer

Term 3 Week 1

We hope this blog finds you all healthy and happy.   We are both very excited that there is one more sleep until camp! If you have not checked your emails the last few days, please do so, as a Camp reminder email was sent with a few reminders for tomorrow morning.  On our Cross Country Day in Week 10 last term, Anne Koltrinari snapped some great action shots from her outpost on the course.   A big congratulations to all members of 5H who used their growth mindset to give their best efforts on the day!   Camp is another wonderful opportunity to work on the concept of "Growth Mindset" as your child may feel difficult emotions that they need to work through at various points over the three days.   Rest assured we will be there to support them all the way.
