I hope you all enjoyed your O.L.C. Loooooong weekend!   SPORTS CARNIVAL It was a very wise decision for Mr Lee to reschedule our Sports Carnival to Wednesday as it was near perfect weather conditions (until those tent pegs gave way in wind gusts at its conclusion!).   Congratulations to Leeuwin for being our overall winners and to Naturaliste for cheering the loudest!   Well done also to Mila for being our Year 5 Champion Girl, to Chloe.R. for being her Runner Up and to Xavier.G. for being Runner Up Year 5 Champion Boy.   There were many moments of growth mindset on display so congratulations to all 5H members for their good sportsmanship, smiles and efforts!                                                     OPEN CLASSROOM It was wonderful to see so many of you at our Open Classroom last Wednesday!   I  loved hearing the students proudly being your tour guides, “showing off” our classroom and their recent learning.   You will never again believe them when you ask them what

We may have a short week of learning this week, but it is certainly a busy one!   Open Classroom   This Wednesday, the 25 th of August between 4:30 and 5:30pm, you are warmly invited to come into 5H to spend some time with your child in their classroom.  They will give you a tour of our learning space and you will have an opportunity to view some work samples out on your child's desk.   On their desk there will also be a star for you put on your favourite piece of work that your child has produced. Please use the space on the star to give some positive feedback to your child and let them know how proud you are of their development. Please note, that this session is not an opportunity for a conversation with us about your child and their development.  Their will be other families and children present and we like those type of discussions to remain private.   If, after your visit, you would like to meet with us, please let us know and we can work out a time that suits!

READING EGGS BOOK WEEK COMPETITION As part of the student's home learning grid this week, they are encouraged to read books from the Reading Eggs Library to help bump up the class' book tally for the Reading Eggs Book Week Competition.  Running from 16th August – 15th September, this competition is a wonderful one-month celebration of all things books. It is designed to open students’ eyes to the beauty of literacy and inspire them to find enjoyment in reading, writing, and practicing their skills.   The Reading Eggs Library is a great area in Reading Eggs filled with thousands of digital stories for students to enjoy. It contains books from a wide range of genres and levels to suit children of all reading abilities and with ov
