Week 5 Term 4

 THANK YOU

Thank you for the beautiful bunch of flowers and candle for my birthday last week!  I had the happiest of days in 5H and felt totally spoilt with so many lovely smiles, hugs, cards and pressies! So blessed!

 CRICKET BLASTERS CARNIVAL

On Friday 13th November (this week) the Year 5 and 6 classes will be travelling to Bovell Oval in Busselton for an Interschool Cricket Carnival. The day allows local schools to come together and participate in a round-robin competition. Students play a modified game of cricket, where each player gets to bat, bowl and field during each game.

We will leave on the bus at 8.45am and return to school by 2pm. Can you please ensure your child is wearing their Sport uniform (Sports polo NOT faction shirts) on this day. They must bring a hat, sunscreen, recess, lunch and a water bottle in their SCHOOL bag.

A permission note (with more information) was sent home regarding this last week so, if you haven’t already, please fill out and return ASAP.

EXCURSION:  CAPE CULTURAL EXPERIENCE

Next Monday, the 16th of November we will be heading outdoors for a wonderful day of learning about the history of Cape Naturaliste.  Further details of the excursion are in the Term 4, Week 3 blog.

The children are to wear their Sports Uniform and bring a daypack (or school backback if you don't have a smaller sized backpack) with their crunch and sip, recess and lunch.

Please ensure they have a FULL water bottle packed.

It would also be helpful if they pack a small pencil case for the day (with pen, rubber and coloured pencils), rather than them having to carry their large school ones.

Please ensure they have their school hat packed and sunscreen on before leaving home.  We will take extra with us to reapply throughout the day.

We will be leaving school by bus at 9:00a.m. so please ensure your child is punctual.

Thanks to Dan Hall for offering to be our parent helper for the day.  We only required one parent helper as both Adrian and I will be attending with the class.  Hopefully they will have lots of interesting new learning to share with you on Monday night!

 2021 LEADERSHIP SPEECHES

This year we are asking anyone who is interested in nominating themselves to be the 2021 Head Girl or Head Boy, to prepare (in their own time) a speech that they will present to an audience of Year 4-6 students and teachers.   We are encouraging students who would like to put themselves forward for this opportunity to utilise the resources and questions that were detailed in last week’s blog.

The presentations will take place on Tuesday the 1st of December.

 NAIDOC WEEK

Last week in preparation for NAIDOC week we completed some artwork with our PPB buddies that is on display next to the office.  We coloured, cut, painted and scratched lines on a hand to become part of our whole school display to recognise the traditional owners of the land our school lies on. We will complete another NAIDOC buddy activity this week and celebrate at our school assembly on Friday.
