Term 1 Week 2

Week 2 in Review!

PARENT NIGHT
Thank you to those parents who were able to attend our parent evening.  The previous blog post contains a link to our presentation.  If you have any remaining questions please pop in and see us in class (after school preferable) or send us an email.  We hope you enjoyed sharing your child's Growth Mindset booklet with them.  They are all so motivated to "train their brains" to be positive and resilient with their learning this year!
We are still looking for our two class reps. If you are interested, please let us know.

BUDDY READING
A highlight of this week was the last 15 minutes of Wednesday afternoon, where we met our Pre-Primary buddies from Mrs Birch's class. The Year 5s each greeted a "little buddy" and read a picture book to their new friend.   Our buddy time is a fabulous way for the Year 5s to begin to develop their leadership skills as they model being healthy role models for our young pres.

SWIMMING TIME TRIALS
Tuesday, the 18th of February, Years 4, 5 & 6 will be departing school at 9am to travel to the Geographe Leisure Centre (Busselton) for the swimming carnival time trials.  We will be returning to school by lunch time.
Students will need to wear sport uniform (faction t-shirt) over their bathers.
Sport shoes must be worn to school but a pair of thongs may be packed in your child's school bag to travel to and from the pool in.
Students must bring in a plastic bag a rashie, goggles, towel and a change of underwear.
Children will be taking their lunchboxes with us as Crunch and Sip and recess will be eaten at the pool. Lunch will be eaten when we return to school, therefore, if your child would like to order their lunch from the canteen they will still be able to.  Please check your child has filled their water bottle on Tuesday morning.
Please ensure all of the above items are labelled with your child's name.
Please inform us if you feel your child will be unable to complete a lap of the 25 metre pool.
The long term forecast has Tuesday's weather in Busselton predicted to be 31 degrees so I'm sure the class will enjoy getting wet!

Signing off with a special shout out to Tilly (Sunday), Lucy & Mr Torrese (Monday) who celebrated their birthdays this week!  We wish you all very Happy Birthdays!

From Mr T
