Week 6

WHEELS AFTER MEALS

A reminder  from Mr Lee that the wheels after meals roller blading/skate boarding and scooter-ing session for Year s will take place tomorrow (Monday the 24th of August) at lunch time. Those that took part last time had a tonne of fun!  The children should put any equipment such as knee pads, helmets and scooters etc. behind Mr Lee's office in the morning.

HOMEWORK WEEK 6

As our sports carnival is on Thursday and there is a Pupil Free Day on Friday, homework will be due on Thursday of this week.  As this is a short week, the only set home learning on the grid is 3 spelling activities (1 each night chosen from the spelling menu).  These will be checked on Thursday so please ensure your child completes a task each night, sign the grid and help them remember to bring their Homework book to class on Thursday morning!

Next week they will have new choices for their spelling homework tasks.

STAR CITIZEN

A huge congratulations to Max who was awarded 5Hs Star Citizen for our school value of Respect!

JUMPS AND THROWS

Congratulations to all of 5H for using their great “Growth Mindset” to give top efforts in their Jumps and Throws over the past couple of weeks. A special shout out to Mahley, Flynn, Noah and Ellie who were awarded their place ribbons on Friday and will be off to the Interschool competition!

FACTION CARNIVAL

OLC’s Sport Carnival is on this Thursday 27th August.  Parent spectators are welcome!  Students are to report to class by 8:40am and we will come down to the faction bays around 9am. The children are to wear their faction shirts on this day and may wear faction colours in their hair or coloured sunscreen.  They can also bring a team mascot in their faction colour! Please ensure that they pack plenty of healthy snacks and a full water bottle for the day. Please return the note sent home last week if you are planning to take your child home at the conclusion of the carnival.  We don’t know what time it will finish but it is expected that it will be  before 3pm, therefore, we need to know who will be leaving or returning to class until the final bell.

Wheelie, Walkie, Waste-Free Wednesday

Our Wheelie, Walkie, Waste -Free Wednesdays will commence again this Wednesday and continue for 3 weeks:

Once again class participation will be recorded and the winning class will receive a free excursion (provided by the City Busselton) of their choice, somewhere within the City of Busselton region.  We are sure 5H would love to vote for that!
