Happy Holidays!

 THE FINAL WEEK IN 5H

We certainly didn’t slack off in our last week in 5H!  We managed to squeeze in some Christmas craft and opened up the glitter jars!  We reflected back over the year with our favourite memories.  We watched Wonder and wrote some beautiful Christmas “Poetrees”.  We starred at the Christmas Concert on Tuesday night with our song “Christmas Kindness” and listened and learned as Lara shared what Christmas time means to her and her family.  Our Leadership team was announced for 2021, and we passed a big CONGRATULATIONS on to Ellie (Head Girl for 2021) and Joe(Deputy Head Boy for 2021).  We scrubbed chairs and trays! We sadly farewelled Mrs Horrocks and were entertained by some past O.L.C. students who shared their musical talents with us through song.  We delivered the final assembly of the year to farewell the current Year 6s and then… finally…. thanks to some incredible parent volunteers, we had fun at the Colour Run!  Phew! I’m sure they slept well on Friday night!

A LAST MESSAGE FROM US

Adrian and I feel so blessed to have taught every single one of your unique children.  They are a very special bunch, and their personalities have all balanced well in 5H this year, which has made for a very fun and productive year of learning.

The children’s beautiful words of gratitude in my Christmas cards brought tears to my eyes and I can see how much they have all grown and matured. Their parting gift from me, however, was a childhood favourite....bubbles!! I feel like I have pushed them this term to develop their leadership skills in preparation for next year, so I really wanted to remind them that they are still children and they need to still enjoy those fun little things like blowing bubbles!  Enjoy them in their last year of Primary School next year!

Thank you so much for all our beautiful gifts!!! You spoilt us and we are grateful! Adrian was over the moon about the hours he can spend immersed in the history of Bruce Springsteen songs and I was thrilled with my gifts of relaxation!  2020 has been a huge year, and a bit of R&R is overdue for us both!

We both wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and may your children keep blessing you all with their love and laughter.

Kathy and Adrian
