Term 2 Week 10
Hi 5H Families!
Please read on for some Week 9 recaps
and Week 10 reminders:
CROSS COUNTRY
Congratulations to all the students who
participated in last week’s Cross Country Running Races. There were great growth mindsets, smiles and everyone’s
top efforts on display. Congratulations to Mila for setting an incredible pace
to come first place in the Year 5 girl’s race. 5J students took out all the other places in both the boys and girl's race!
LIBRARY
The children did not get to swap their library books on Friday so
we will be visiting the school library tomorrow (Monday). Please remind your
child to pack their books for return in their book bag if they would like to
swap.
PARISH MASS
This Wednesday, the 23rd of June the Year Five cohort
will be walking to Our Lady of the Southern Cross to share a parish mass with
Father Francis at 9:30 am (weather dependent). Parents are most
welcome to join us.
Please ensure your child is on time for our 8:40 am first bell, as
we will be starting our walk down to the church shortly after.
FOCUS CHARACTER STRENGTH
Currently at OLC we are focusing on
modelling and observing different character strengths. This week we are looking
for people who demonstrate Forgiveness. Can you encourage your child to develop
this trait?
HOMEWORK
Your child has a homework grid this
week. Please encourage them
to set aside a little time each night to complete their activities and sign the
grid to show its completion on Thursday night, ready to hand in on Friday
morning.
Special activities to note this week include
sharing their digital journals with you and spending time working on their
S.T.E.M. project for Mr Torrese.
AWARD WINNER
Congratulations Amy for being our Week 9 Year 5
Super Star Merit Award Winner!
A note from Mrs Haines…
